Relief Aid After Iran Earthquake
After two strong earthquakes with magnitudes of 6.0 and 6.2 in 11 August 2012, Support to Life has reached the area and started operating relief works. During the situation analysis, it was detected that there is a great need for sheltering and animal shelters for the oncoming winter.
Support to Life team started the distribution of disaster relief materials in September, after conducting a needs assessment in the disaster area. For 340 households, blankets and tarpaulins were provided and undergarments were supplied for both adults and children.
So far, Support to Life has reached 2.000 people living in the 7 villages of Varzaghan region, which is bound to Tebriz. By doing so, the needs of the earthquake victims, who live in the distant villages were supplied before the winter arrives.
The distributions were held in collaboration with Iranian Red Crescent and the Disaster Management Center.
